Mabel ATSINGER

ATSINGER Mabel Atsinger of Lacombe passed away at the Ponoka General Hospital on October 2, 2007 at the age of 92. On December 19, 1914 Mabel was born in Youngstown, Alberta to parents Harry and Mary Smelser. At the age of 12 her family moved to the Gull Lake district. There Mabel took her schooling and later worked for different neighbours. On November 7, 1935 Mabel married Joe Atsinger. When Joe died in 1962 Mabel continued to carry on with the farm where she lived until 2004. Mabel was an artistic person who enjoyed painting, cake decorating and many other crafts, The yard on her farm brought a smile to many traveling on Highway 2. Mabel will be missed by her children; Ken (Linda) Atsinger of Blackfalds, Marjorie (Paul) Dubuc of Lacombe, daughters-in-law Ella Huss, and Linda Harriman, her grandchildren; Keith (Penny), Kenny, Kevin Dubuc, Kendall, Ron (Sandra) Atsinger, Karyn (Jon) McNeill, Jeffery (Ruth) Harriman and Jacquline Harriman, great grandchildren; Ali, Amy, Lily, Zackery, Tyrell, Emily Jackson, Catalena, Karisa and Devon, also Richard and Wendy Munroe, her siblings; Irish, Verlie and Vergene. She was predeceased by her siblings, Elaine, Audrey, Wendall, Cedric, Buddy, Rodney and Vernon. A family graveside service will be held at the Blackfalds Cemetery on Thursday October 25th, 2007 at 11 a.m. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to: wfch@telusplanet.net. (Subject Atsinger).
