MACKINNON Mrs. Laura Mary MacKinnon of Red Deer, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2006 at the age of 79 years. Laura was very passionate about volunteering for the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre fund raising initiatives. She will be very sadly missed but lovingly remembered and forever cherished in the hearts of her family and dear friends. Laura leaves to mourn her son, Bruce of Red Deer, daughter, Lynn MacKinnon of Lamont, Alberta and son, John (Mary) MacKinnon of Cold Lake, Alberta, six grandchildren, Angela Els of Calgary, Alberta, Melissa MacKinnon (Andreas) of Edmonton, Alberta, Robyn and Grant MacKinnon, both of Cold Lake, Lisa (Steve) Hayes of Portland, Oregon and Sara Goudy of Red Deer and one great granddaughter. Laura will also be sadly missed by her brother Harry, as well as sisters-in-law, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends. Laura was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald Joseph MacKinnon, a son, George, a daughter, Donna from Pictou, Nova Scotia, two sisters, Beatrice and Jeanie, both of Nova Scotia and a brother, Albert. A Public Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 6 McMillan Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the “Garden of Divinity” at the Alto-Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta.
