ROBERTS Mae M. Roberts of Red Deer passed away at the Foothills Hospital, Calgary, AB. on Friday, August 9, 2008 at the age of 83 years. Mae will be lovingly remembered by her three sons; Bruce (Linda) Roberts of Grand Forks, BC, Jim of Dawson Creek, BC and Garry (Anne) Roberts of Cochrane, AB; daughter, Maureen Joly (Terry Rehn) of Red Deer, AB and five grandchildren, Calvin, Kelsey and Erin Roberts of Cochrane, AB, Shauna (Lars) Glemser of Calgary, AB as well as Dennis Joly of Pincher Creek, AB. Predeceasing Mae was her husband of 58 years, Earl Roberts in 2005; Mae's five brothers and her two sisters, most recently her sister, Mina Treliving in 2008. Mae was born in Virden, MB and met the man she was to marry when she moved to Toronto, ON. Earl William Roberts and Mae Gardner were wed on November 1, 1947. The couple moved from Toronto, ON to St. Paul, AB and then to Red Deer, AB where they remained until June 2008 when Mae moved to Cochrane, AB. Mae enjoyed her weekly coffee parties with the Checkmate Court ladies and travelling with her sister. Most importantly Mae was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mae was blessed with a large extended family including many loving nieces and nephews; she always enjoyed time spent with family and friends. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287-67A Street, Red Deer, Alberta, from 7:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m.. Funeral Services for the late Mae M. Roberts to take place on Friday, August 15, 2008 at the Deer Park Alliance Church, 2960-39 Street, Red Deer, AB, at 1:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, #101, 5208-53rd Avenue, Red Deer, AB T4N 5K2.
