MAJEAU

MAJEAU 1935 – 2006 Kevin passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on June 28, 2006 after a lengthy battle with cancer.  Left to mourn his passing are his wife & friend Pat, daughter Caroline Doan, grandchildren Kelsey and Shawn of London, Ontario, daughter Jodi Dolinsky and son-in-law Ralph Dolinsky of Hinton, Alberta. His memory will also be cherished by his brother Clarence (Carol) Majeau, two sisters Nita (Len) Johnston, Donna (Wolf) Metzger as well as many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his sister Rita Patsula, and niece Kimberly Miller. Kevin was a life long teacher, both professionally and as a way of life. He had a love of literature and history. He retired from a 35-year teaching career as principal of Aspen Heights Elementary School.  He also was an avid volunteer. Kevin proudly contributed to the community of Red Deer through his more than 40-year membership with the Red Deer Optimist Club. He also belonged to the Normandeau Cultural & Natural History Board, The Red Deer & District Museum Society and more recently, the Sunnybrook Farm Museum Board. He was awarded numerous accolades throughout his work and volunteerism including The Recognition of Contribution Award of Museums Alberta, and the Mayor's Recognition Award in 2003. A celebration of Kevin's life will be held at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67A Street, Red Deer on July 6, 2006 at 2:00 pm. If friends so desire memorial donations in Kevin's name may be directed to a charity of donor's choice. Condolences can be forwarded to the family at: www.parklandfuneralhome.com. In living memory of the late Mr. Kevin Majeau, a tree will be planted in the Parkland Memorial Tree Park.
