HAY, Margaret HAY

Margaret (Peggy) Vivian Hay (nee McKay) passed away peacefully at her home in Red Deer on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at the age of 83 years. She is survived by her daughters, Lynda Hartley and Pat (Tom) Skinner and her beloved grandchildren Manda, Sarah, Tanner and Fallon, and son-in-law Barry Schalin. Peg was predeceased by her husband Don and her daughter Shirley Schalin. Peg was born in Somerset, Manitoba and came west as Don's bride after serving overseas as a WREN in WWII. Peg and Don farmed at Acme, Alberta for many years before moving to Red Deer. Peg loved to dance, golf and play bridge with her many friends, and she was always up to take your quarters in a game of crib, but what Peg loved most of all was her children and grandchildren. Peg's quick wit and compassion will be missed by all. At Peg's request there will be no funeral service. Friends are invited to join the family at a Remembrance Tea to be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820- 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, October 9, 2004 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Flowers are gratefully declined. Also at Peg's request, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to the ALS Society of Alberta, 400, 320 - 23 Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta T2S 0J2. Condolences may be forwarded to the family at www.eventidefuneralchapels.com
