Mrs. Margaret Phillipson passed away peacefully, with family by her side, in Red Deer on Monday, June 12, 2017 at the age of 91 years. Margaret was born in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan, the eldest in her family of five. Her small town upbringing gave her a love of music, a love of lifelong learning; as well as a strong sense of self. She married her beloved, Tom and they had two children, Bryan and Lynne. Margaret and Tom lived in Alberta, and British Columbia, then finally realizing their dream, and retiring in Kelowna. Margaret was a capable, loving, compassionate, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter and sister, renowned for her knitting, and needlework, and her love of golf and bridge. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Bryan Phillipson and daughter, Lynne McLoughlin (Brian), her loving grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and her sisters; Jeanne Bouvier, Denise (John) Gauthier, Marion (Claude) Piche. Margaret lost her best friend, and partner, Tom in 1986, and was also predeceased by her siblings Denis and Marcel. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Harmony Care Homes where she resided in her later years. Margaret was laid to rest beside her beloved Tom, on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kelowna, British Columbia. There will also be a celebration of her life in Gravelbourg in July, to be announced at a later date.
