REID, MARIE AGNES (PARENT) It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Marie Agnes Reid who departed from us on February 21, 2006. Marie (Grandma) was born on February 16, 1912 in Medicine Lake, Montana and moved to Canada with her family in 1918 where they homesteaded in Lilac, Saskatchewan. There she met her husband Wert Reid who predeceased her in 1985. Together they had four children, three of whom predeceased her: Lois Johnson in 1998, Iris Tillett in 2002, and her son Edwin in 2005 as well as a grandson Todd Loik in 1992. Grandma was also predeceased by four brothers: Walt, Jean, Guy, and Harvey Parent, two sisters: Vivien Ranger and Mabel Clifford. In 1996, Grandma moved to Red Deer to be with her daughter Myrna then in 1999, they moved to Sylvan Lake, Alberta where she enjoyed her last few years with many great friends. Her ever-present smile will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Grandma is survived by her daughter Myrna, three sisters: Edna Rowley, Lucille Wright, and Yvette Barbour and her brother Bert Parent as well as numerous grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren. Parishioners and friends are invited to Prayers at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Sylvan Lake on Monday, February 27, at 7:00 P.M. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 1:30 P.M. with Reverend Father Victor Eze Celebrant. Interment will be held in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, North Battleford, Saskatchewan. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
