SMITH Marion Smith of Red Deer passed away at home after a lengthy battle with cancer on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at the age of 73 years. Marion was very devoted to the Gaetz Memorial United Church. She was also a member of the Royal Purple for many years. Marion was very close to her family and she loved to spend time with them, camping and traveling. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. Marion will be lovingly remembered by three sons; Kent of Quesnel, Dirk (Elaine Jones) of Edmonton and Neil of Calgary, two daughters; Susan of St. Albert and Lynn of Red Deer and seven grandchildren; Michael Smith, Brian McBride, Sheldon McBride, Will Smith, Cassandra Bargholz, Emily Smith and Scott Bargholz. She is also survived by two brothers; Harlan (Carol) Sundal of Calgary and Ivan Sundal (Faith Fernalld) of Edmonton, one sister, Evelyn (Casey) Vandenbrink of Victoria as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by her husband, Hugh Smith and her mother, Gladys Sundal. Those wishing to pay their respects to Mrs. Marion Smith can do so during a time of Visitation at the Red Deer Funeral Home (6150-67 Street) on Monday, February 12, 2007 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. or at the Gaetz Memorial United Church (4758 Ross Street) on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 between 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The Funeral Service will follow at the Gaetz Memorial United Church on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Doctor Fran Hare officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake View Cemetery in Stettler.
