It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mary, a dearly loved wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mary will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 67 years Jack, and her children John (Rhonda), Mary Ellen (Jeffrey), and Andy (Kerrie) along with her nine grandchildren: Amy (Adam), Megan, Zoe, Shannon (Robin), Connor (Ashley), Erin, Mark, Rachel, and Tom as well as three great-grandchildren: Owen, Oscar and Ida and many relatives, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Hugh and Gladys Stewart and her sister Kathleen.
Mary was born in North Battleford and grew up in various locales around Saskatchewan. She graduated from Royal Alexandra Hospital as an R.N. in 1949 and was a community builder and compassionate and caring volunteer throughout her life as well as a lifelong member of "Rider Nation".
Mary will also be specially remembered by her Knox Church Family, Simon James, her exercise class and her many friends.
The family is very grateful for the exceptional and compassionate care provided by the Red Deer Hospice, Palliative Home Care, and Dr. Brian Dembinski.
The funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 4718 Ross St., Red Deer, AB on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 2PM.
Donations, if desired, can be made to Red Deer Hospice or Doctors Without Borders but flowers are gratefully declined.
