KILLEEN, Mary Eileen

Mary Eileen Killeen of Red Deer, AB passed away quickly and peacefully at Extendicare Michener on Monday, November 6, 2017.

Born in Almonte, Ontario, Mary Eileen Hickey grew up as the middle child with an older sister Carmel, and a younger brother Leo (both deceased). Eileen married Raymond Joseph Killeen in 1950 in Ottawa, where she was working as a secretary for the Metropolitan Life Company.

After moves to Victoria and Edmonton, the Killeens settled in Red Deer in the early 1960s. Raymond (deceased) was a teacher and administrator for the Catholic Schools, and Eileen was the President's Secretary at Red Deer College. Eileen's oldest, Sharon, predeceased both parents. John Richard Killeen resides in Red Deer.

Eileen is survived by her son Dr. Michael F Killeen, his wife Heather, and their 6 children of St. George, UT. She is also survived by her granddaughter Tara, her husband Jesse, and their son Liam of Calgary.

Funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Church on Thursday, November 16th at 1:00 pm. Eileen will always be known by her friends and associates as a feisty Irish woman who was never afraid to speak her mind. She will be missed by all who knew her.
