McBETH Carla Michelle It is with profound sadness that the family of Carla McBeth announces her sudden passing on Friday, July 13, 2007 at the age of 27 years. She will be sadly missed by her parents; Deborah and Dennis O’Brien and Tim McBeth, sisters; Amy (Ross) and Arielle; brother; Jordan, niece; Grace, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Carla was born in Calgary and moved to Red Deer at the age of four. She loved music and during her teen years she spent her hours playing piano, flute and bagpipes. She was a member of the Red Deer Legion Pipe Band before her high school graduation in 1997. Carla then moved to Edmonton where she took some science courses at the University of Alberta before returning to Red Deer to work as a medical lab assistant at the hospital. In 2003, Carla enrolled at Red Deer College to study social work. She obtained her diploma in 2005 and then continued her education at the University of Calgary. She graduated with her Bachelor of Social Work in June 2007. Carla was hard working and earned several scholarships during her university years. She also enjoyed working at the Youth Shelter. Carla served as VP Admin of the First Nations Student Association at the U of C. Carla had a passion for the outdoors and animals, especially horses and cats. She was a vibrant person who could fill a room with her presence and beautiful smile, we will miss her forever. A Funeral Service will be held at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 - 67A Street, Red Deer, AB on Friday, July 20th, 2007 at 3:30 p.m. Memorial Donations may be made to The Calgary SPCA, 4455 - 110 Avenue S.E., Calgary, Alberta T2C 2T7.
