McBRIDE, Bump Bump McBride of Innisfail, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2005 at the age of 54 years old. Bump was born on March 5, 1950 in Innisfail to Timer and Ruby McBride. He was the seventh child born into a large family of ten. In 1974 Bump attended NAIT and graduated as a journeyman baker. After practicing for nearly 5 years in Edmonton he returned home to Innisfail. In June 1977, Bump began his career working at Johns Manville. He began as a hot end operator and worked throughout the plant. He was able to achieve his Millwright Apprenticeship at NAIT and SAIT. In 1977 Bump met Janice Peterson, they were married in 1979. In 1987 Bump's dream came true when they were blessed with Melissa and Jared in 1990. Bump was very active in the community. He was recognized in 1998 from the Johns Manville Fund as "Volunteer of the Year". Whether it was soccer, baseball, dance, hockey or mentoring with Big Brothers Bump touched many lives. Numerous children will remember receiving treats from Bump at the arena, such as orange pop, smarties, and slushies. Bump is survived by his best friend and wife of 27 years Janice and his precious children Melissa and Jared. He is also survived by siblings Robert Piesse wife Kathleen; Allan Piesse wife Marilyn; Jean Tinordi husband Steve; Shirley Ingles friend Gibb; Doug McBride wife Val; Pat Rankin husband Larry; Ed McBride wife Marydell; Marg Anderson; Terry McBride wife Shauna as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bump will also be remembered by many friends at the hockey arena. Predeceased by his parents Timer and Ruby McBride, special brother in law Dennis Ingles and very special niece Ashley McBride. Funeral Services for the late Bump McBride will be held at the Innisfail Arena, 5804-42 Street Innisfail on Friday, February 25, 2005 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Margaret Lange officiating and interment will follow at the Innisfail Cemetery.
