McCORMICK Ruth On Sunday, April 15, 2007, Ruth Helen McCormick passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon McCormick, Anne McCormick and sons, Delbert (Doreen) McCormick, Leonard (Dianne) McCormick, Roy (Pat) McCormick, Bill (Brenda) McCormick, her thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great grand-children, and her sister, Stella Service. She was predeceased by her parents William and Minnie Raby, her brother Ralph Raby, sisters Mina McKee and Sadie Wilson, sons Leslie, Gary and his twin, John and her grandson Darrell Chuhaniuk. Ruth began her life March 27, 1922 in Rockhaven, Saskatchewan. Over the years, she has lived in Cut Knife, Saskatoon and North Battleford, Saskatchewan as well as Orillia, Ontario before finally residing in Red Deer, Alberta. Though she was 85, one would never have guessed with the busy lifestyle she led. Not only was she an active member of the Golden Circle and Downtown House, she also had several close friends that ensured she made it to her crib tournaments and dances. She loved to dance! Her love of playing music and listening to it was not only enjoyed by her family but by her many friends and residents at Barrett Place. An avid gardener until the end, she only gave it up once the deer staked claim to her garden. Ruth was a cherished mother, grandmother, granny and sister who loved her family and friends, she will be greatly missed. In Lieu of flowers the family has requested that Memorial Donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Red Deer Regional Hospital or to the charity of their choice. A Memorial Service will be held at the Red Deer Funeral Home, 6150 - 67 Street, Red Deer on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with luncheon to follow at The Royal Canadian Legion, 2810 Bremner Ave., Red Deer. Officiate will be Rev. Brenda Kersell. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007 in Cut Knife, Saskatchewan Condolences may be forwarded to the family at: www.reddeerfuneralhome.com
