McKINLAY

February 18, 2006

McKINLAY, Dorothy Grace (nee Morse) It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Dorothy Grace McKinlay (nee Morse) on February 14. 2006. Dorothy was born in Strathmore on April 2, 1925 to Charles and Ida Morse. In 1948 Dorothy married Bob McKinlay, a union that would last 57 years. Bob and Dorothy settled on a farm east of Huxley where their 5 girls were born. The family moved into the hamlet of Huxley in 1971 where Dorothy began her 15 year career as Huxley school custodian. Dorothy was the proud and adored mother of 5 daughters, Margret (Richard) Hagon, Debbie McKinlay, Roberta (Rolly) Turnbull, Karen (Wendell) Nelson, and Mary Jean McKinlay. Those blessed and lucky to call her Granny include Jason (Michelle), Amilee and Alanna Hagon, Adrienne, Rachelle and Vanessa Nelson, Julie and Stephanie Todd, Cheryl McKinlay-Noskey, and Lindsey and Marina Nolan. She was also a great grandma to Brieanna, Caleb and Rylan Todd. Dorothy is survived by sisters Beryl Fleming, and Phyllis (Bob) Winther, brother Wayne (Vi) Morse, sister-in-laws Donna Morse, and Kay (Garvin) Anderson, as well as many well loved nieces and nephews. Our mom was well loved and we will miss her forever. We love you mom. A service to celebrate the life of Dorothy Grace McKinlay will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Trochu United Church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimers Society. The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Lundell, Phyllis Kober, Sherry Scheunert and her many Huxley friends and extended family for kindness offered to our wife and mom. Arrangements entrusted to: Prairie Winds Funeral Home, Trochu, AB. (403) 442-2200.
