McRAE It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ernest (Tim) McRae. Tim was born in Huxley, Alberta on March 11, 1917; son of Thomas Hector and Mary (Caldwell) McRae. Tim was educated at Acadia and Loyalty Schools. During the 30's he worked for local farmers and in the bush, logging, during the winters. In 1941 Tim joined the R.C.A.S.C. He went overseas in 1943 and served in England, Sicily, France, Belgium, Holland and Italy. He returned home on New Year's Day, 1946. On Feb. 20, he married Elizabeth Alberta West at the home of her sister, Marion Earl. Tim and Elizabeth farmed west of Huxley until his retirement in 1984. They moved into the Robertson Manor in Three Hills. After Elizabeth's passing, Tim moved to Trochu. In 1999, he suffered a stroke and moved into the Long Term Care in Drumheller. A year later he returned to Trochu and resided there in the Long Term Care facility for 5 years. Tim was predeceased by his loving wife, Elizabeth in 1987; mother, Mary in 1936; his father, Hector in 1948; infant sister, Susan in 1913; his brother, John in 1986; his sister, Mabel (Maxwell) in 2003 and his sister, Margaret (Ibbotson) in 2003. He is survived by his sister, Alice (Ronnie) Parrott of Ottawa; his 3 children: Carol (Ian) Fisher of Ladysmith B.C., Earl (Darlene) of Three Hills and Bill (Annette) of Red Deer; his 8 grandchildren: Greg (Willow) Fisher, Maureen (Linden) Shaw, Nadine (Kary) Duque, Colleen (Aaron) O'Dell, Chad McRae (fiance Jenn Stephens), Nicole (Stan) Carney, Corey McRae (fiance Christa Kammermayer), Wade McRae and one great-grandchild, Connor Shaw. Tim will be fondly remembered for the love of his family, his sense of humor and his hard working character. A memorial service will be held on February 17, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in the Trochu Community Hall. Donations can be made to St. Mary's Health Centre or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
