MEINDERTSMA Michiel (Mike) Dec. 8, 1983 - April 25, 2008 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michiel Meindertsma, beloved son, brother, and father. Mike was born on December 8, 1983 in Giekerk (Fr), Holland, and immigrated to Canada with his family in 2000. He was passionate about dairy farming and enjoyed working for the Brouwer family in Ponoka for the past three years. He served as chairman of the board of the Ponoka Youth Centre. The youth and staff at the centre will remember him for his friendship and his listening ear. Mike tried to change the world for the better, always putting himself last. Mike was overjoyed last year at the birth of his daughter, Emma. She was his "little princess" and utmost passion. Mike's sense of humour, dedication and love will be greatly missed. He will never be forgotten. Michiel leaves to mourn his one-year-old daughter, Emma Mae Anneke, and her mother Jamie, his heit and mem Harry and Anneke Meindertsma, his brother and quadding buddy Pieter, his sister Feikje, his two beppes, aunts, uncles and cousins in Holland, and all his friends in both Canada and Holland. Funeral Services will be held at Woodynook Christian Reformed Church on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. Donations in Mike’s honour to the Ponoka Youth Centre, Box 4115, Ponoka, AB T4J 1R5 are gratefully accepted.
