MOORE

February 17, 2006

MOORE Mr. Richard (Dick) Moore of Bentley passed away at the Lacombe Hospital on February 15, 2006 at the age of 85 years. Dick was born in Bentley in 1920 and spent most of his life in the Bentley community. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WW II and spent two years in England. After the war Dick started Valley Electric with Red Garries. They enjoyed working in the electrical business for 20 years. In the late 1960's Dick was drawn back to the farm. He became very interested in Charolais cattle and developed a successful purebred cattle operation. The Charolais business gave him many great friends and years of enjoyment. Dick will be sadly missed by his wife of 53 years Robbie (Helen), his son Doug (Donna) of Bentley, daughters Janis (Larry Schmidek) of Spruce View, Betty Jo (Michael Pellicci) of Calgary, Dawn (Greg Pecharsky) of Lacombe. Dick had to wait many years to become a grandfather but it was worth the wait. His 7 grandchildren were the hi-light of his later years. He took great pride in their accomplishments and they truly appreciated his love, support and unlimited patience. He is also survived by his sister Carolyn (Morris Shaw) of Lacombe, sister-in-law Marnie (Phil Marshall) of Red Deer and brother-in-law Harold Rogers of Red Deer plus numerous nieces and nephews. Dick was predeceased by his brother Allen Moore and sisters Florence Hayden and Shirley Butcher. A memorial service to remember Dick will be held at the Blindman Valley Agricultural Centre (New Community Hall) Bentley, AB on Saturday February 18th, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. If so desired memorial donations in Dick's honor may be made to the Blindman Valley Agricultural Society, Bentley, AB.
