CHAPMAN Muriel Alberta Chapman of Red Deer was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, July 29, 2007, where she joined her husband and loving family who have gone before her. Muriel will be lovingly remembered by her devoted family; her son Rea (Darlene) Chapman of Dawson Creek, B.C, her three daughters Brenda (John) Asmundson, Barbara (Rick) Friesz, and Dixie (Del) Billings, all of Red Deer. Muriel will also be remembered by her nine grandchildren, Christy, Julia, Ryan, Cody, Paige, Ty, Kolton, Richard and Brittany; two great grandchildren, Jakob and Audra Gliniak; one sister Wilma Glasier of Stettler as well as many numerous families and treasured friends. Muriel was predeceased by her husband Pat in 2000, daughter Debbie in 1986 and son-in law Barry Houck in 1992. Muriel was born in Stettler on September 23, 1927, were she met and married Pat in 1948. They moved to Red Deer in 1963. Muriel was an avid curler and "Oiler fan". She loved flowers and floral designing. She was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church and was active in the Lutheran Women's Missonary League. Muriel was devoted to her family and enjoyed her many friends she made throughout the years. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Parkland Funeral Home 6287 A Street, Red Deer, AB, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, August 2nd. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 3, 2007 at 11:00 am at the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 18 Selkirk Blvd. in Red Deer. Memorial donations may be made in honour of Muriel to the Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Avenue, Red Deer, AB T4R 3S6. Condolences can be forwarded to the family at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. In living memory of Muriel, a tree will be planted in the Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium Memorial Tree Park, Red Deer County.
