Muriel FOESIER

FOESIER, Muriel Elsie (nee Nicholson) Muriel Elsie Foesier of Caroline passed away at Rocky Hospital on December 2, 2005, at the age of 91 years. Born in Vulcan, Alberta on September 29, 1914 to Frank & Sarah Margaret Nicholson, she was a very devoted Mother to her 10 children, Grandmother of 31, and Great Grandmother of 32. Muriel is survived by her 10 children: Frank (Lorna) of Caroline; Dolly (aka Helaine) Rios of Oregon; Jackie (George) Ebbesen of Kevisville; Pauline (Rick) Harriott of Eckville; Jo (Art) Michaluk of Kevisville; Dick (Jean) of Kevisville; Kit (Larry) McKain of Kevisville; Gerri Grieve of Caroline; Bernadine (Lee) Vistotto of Rocky Mountain House; and Jim of Yukon Territory and Special Daughter, Debbie Howe, of Caroline. Muriel is also survived by Bob Bloomfield of High River; her sister-in-law, Ollie Nicholson of Airdrie; her brother-in-law Charlie Urch of Drumheller. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack, in 1971; her brother, Nicky Nicholson; her sister, Kay Urch; and sons-in-law, Howard Harriott and Ruben Rios. She was also predeceased by 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and , Marilyn Bloomfield. She met Jack at the Cowboy Ball in Calgary in 1936. They married Sept. 25, 1937, and moved to Turner Valley. She mothered 8 of their children before their move to farm at Caroline in 1951. She was an active member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, as health permitted, since 1956. She was an active member in the Caroline Golden Age Club, the Drop In Center, and was Church organist for several years. She enjoyed her pets, gardening, reading, puzzles, rug hooking, and crocheting. Her favorite places to visit were Hawaii and California. Her favorite family activities were annual picnics at the Raven Fish Hatchery. Her fondest memories consisted of the family gathering at Christmas. Her favorite music was the organ, and her memorable pets were "Mittens", "Samson", "Rufus", "Chico" and "Frisky". If she could live her life over again, she would like to be a music teacher. Special prayers will be said on Wednesday, December 7th, 7 p.m., at St. Matthew Church in Rocky. Funeral Service for Muriel Foesier will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Rocky Mountain House on Thursday, December 8th, at 11 a.m. with Father Paul Payyapilly officiating. Interment will follow in the Caroline cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to S.T.A.R.S Ambulance, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Palliative Care Unit Rocky Mountain House Hospital, or the charity of the donor's choice.
