MYFONA PERCY

PERCY, MYFONA Feb. 28, 1918 – March 20, 2005 Mona was born in Cilfynydd, Wales; she came to Canada with her parents Maurice and Margaret Lewis and younger sister Gwyneth (Lewis) Taylor in 1929. They farmed near Clyde, Alberta. Mona moved to Edmonton after graduating high school and began working as a seamstress for the GWG (Great Western Garment Company). Mona met Reginald Franklin Percy in March of 1942 and they married on August 1, 1942. She leaves to mourn her passing, husband Reg; daughter Margaret (Karl) Reinhardt, granddaughter Laura (Brad) Fulton, great grandson Zachary; grandson Darren (Audra) Reinhardt, great granddaughter Mikayla, and great grandson Thomas; daughter-in-law Jean (Ellis) Percy, grandson Lucas (Gillian) Percy, grandson Ryan (Amanda) Percy; daughter Elleanor (Ron) Reinhardt, granddaughter Lenora (John) Tishauser, great grandson Kyle, great granddaughter Alyssa, grandson Jason; granddaughter Candace (Greg) Appleyard, great granddaughter Alexis and great grandson Ty; sister Gwyneth (Gordon) Taylor; sister-in-law Diane (Maurice) Lewis, niece Gayle (Glen Woollard), nephew Miles (Becky) Lewis and niece Wendy (Rob) Glover. Her parents, her son Ellis, brother Maurice and brother-in-law Gordon predeceased Mona. Thank you to Dr. Ben Sader and the nurses and staff of the Strathmore Hospital for their compassionate care. Memorial donations may be made directly to Strathmore Hospital Palliative Care Unit (200 Brent Blvd., Strathmore, T1P 1J9). A private family service will be held at a later date.
