Myrtle Fern (nee Brewer)

Apr. 28, 1926 – Aug. 28, 2017

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Myrtle Fern Booth (Brewer) announces her passing on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Michener Extendicare. Predeceased in 2000 by Keith, her beloved husband of 54 years, she is survived by one son, Lynn (Marlies) Booth, two daughters, Esther Niemi, and Barbara Marian, seven grandchildren – Michael Booth, Rachel (Don) Pattimore, Angela (Darcy) Ouellet, Todd (Jody) Niemi, Chelsea (Scott) Roberts, Gina (Troy) Kibreath and Brody Marian as well as thirteen great-children. She is also survived by three dear sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Born in Lacombe in 1926, Myrtle married Keith in 1946 and they were long-time residents of Red Deer. She will be remembered for her fierce love of family and a keen (sometimes shocking!) sense of humor. She demonstrated her abundant love with gifts of beautiful, creative crafts, meticulous sewing projects and delicious baking. Many of these loving projects and recipes are still cherished by their recipients.

The family wishes to sincerely thank all of the dedicated staff a Michener Extendicare for the wonderful care they provided for Mom in these last years and days of her life.

In lieu of flowers, please direct any donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundations of Alberta, a cause close to Mom’s heart, and one that she volunteered with for many years or to Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre, another charity she enthusiastically supports.

Condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.eventidefuneralchapels.com.
