NORTHCOTT, It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Darrel Edward Northcott on January 21, 2006 at the age of 62. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 26 years Janice, his two sons Sean and Jared (Rosa) and his daughter Kelly, along with his two grandsons Ethan and Simon. Darrel is also survived by his parents Harold and Janetta Northcott of Milo, AB. Darrel was born on September 24, 1943 in St. Thomas, Ontario. He grew up on a farm near Milo, AB and moved to Calgary after graduation from high school to attend SAIT. After completing his diploma in Industrial Electrical Technology he worked for Calgary Power and later worked for Xerox in both Calgary and Lethbridge. After 20 years at Xerox, Darrel and Janice moved to Red Deer to open CopiesNOW. Recently Darrel and Janice built their dream home on Sylvan Lake and Darrel enjoyed puttering around the lake and property. Darrel was a prominent member of the community and was involved in various organizations, including the Red Deer Optimist Club, Red Deer Public Library Association and the Red Deer Chamber of Commerce. He will be greatly missed by his brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, cousins, co-workers and friends. Janice and the children invite all family and friends to an open house celebration of Darrel's life on Thursday, January 26, 2006 from 1:00 pm - 7:00 p.m. at their home in Sylvan Lake (91 Grand Avenue, Norglenwold).
