OSBERG

September 18, 2004

OSBERG October 8, 1926 - September 8, 2004 Arthur Osberg passed away at Victoria General Hospital, at the age of 77. "Ozzie", as he was known by everyone, was born in Lethbridge, Alberta. In 1941 he was hired onto the CN Railroad in Calgary. He was promoted to engineer in 1951 and worked out of Jasper, Alberta, where he met Dorothy, his wife of 51 years. They moved their growing family to Okotoks, Alberta, where Ozzie worked the Calgary CN yard for ten years. In 1972 they settled just east of Alix, Alberta. There Ozzie farmed while continuing to work for the railroad, out of Mirror and Red Deer. Ozzie's passion was calf roping on his cherished horse, Joker. Over the years they traveled together to many rodeos throughout Central Alberta. In 1989 he retired to Sooke, B.C., where he relished the mild winters, and the great fishing. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, his seven children, Jan (John) of White Rock, Joanne (Bill) of Saanichton, David (Helene) of Campbell River, Susan (Len) of Calgary, Sonja (John) of Ottawa, Teri (Doug) of Tees, and Barbara (Leslie) of Victoria. As well, his grandchildren, Danny Layden, Amy Bellamy, Jennifer Cross, Brandon Bellamy, Jordan Madley, Elliot Clancy-Osberg. Adam Giles and Jessica Giles. His family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation for the wonderful care Ozzie received at RP1 Jubilee Hospital, and Victoria General Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. K. Losie and his staff. No service by request.
