OSLUND Mrs. Gillis (Margaret A.) of Red Deer, passed away on March 2, 2007. Mrs. Oslund was born near Binscarth, Manitoba. Her family moved to a farm near North Star, Alberta (Peace Country) when she was young. In her twenties she moved to Vancouver, B.C. where she met and married Gillis. They returned to Alberta, living in Edmonton and Drayton Valley before settling in Red Deer. She enjoyed raising her family, cooking, gardening, traveling and helping others within the community, and always keeping busy. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her children; Stuart (Brenda), Graham (Ruth), Brenda, and Geoff, and her grandchildren; Amie, Ian and Rosemary. Her three siblings, Eleanor, Albert (Beulah), and Donald (Olga), will also miss Margaret. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Gillis, brother Thomas and sisters Jessie and Berna. An open house will be held on Thursday March 8th, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Leonard's On The Hill, 4241 - 44 Street, Red Deer, AB. Memorial Donations in Margaret's honour may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, #101, 5208 - 53 Avenue, Red Deer, AB T4N 5K2 or the Central Alberta Cancer Centre, Box 5030, 3942 - 50A Avenue, Red Deer, AB T4N 6R2.
