Patricia Mary Resta (nee Bolton)

May 08, 1934 - April 23, 2017

Pat was the second of two children born to George and Margaret Bolton of Brooks, Alberta. A very loyal and busy young girl, she enjoyed delivering groceries and papers, and going to school. Pat had a passion for helping and caring for people so after getting her high school diploma, she enrolled in the Calgary General Hospital School of Nursing. She graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1955. In 1957, Pat moved back to Brooks and worked at the hospital there.

On a sunny afternoon in June, attending a barbeque at Lake Newell, she met Don Resta, an oilfield surveyor, and they married on May 17, 1958. In 1959, Don left the oil patch and they moved to Red Deer, where Pat worked at the Red Deer Hospital. In 1964, they built a new home in Blackfalds and Pat worked at Lacombe Hospital. Pat and Don had a passion for country life and wanted their three children, Patti, Shelley and Stephen, to experience it. So, in 1973, they found 80 acres near Blackfalds and built to fulfill their dream. When the children moved on with their careers, Pat and Don spent many winters in the Southern U.S., Mexico and on Island vacations.

Pat passed away at Royal Oak Care Centre in Lacombe on April 23, 2017. She leaves to mourn her loving husband, Don; daughter, Patti Resta; daughter, Shelley (Tim) Davies; son, Steve (Tish) Resta; grandson, Brent (Kristel) Resta and children Riley and Zachary; grandson, Joshua (Jessica) Pohl and children Anika and McKenna; granddaughters, Gina and Jamie Davies; grandson, Ben Resta; granddaughter, Kaylie Resta; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
