HANCZIK, Patrick J.

Mar. 13, 1945 - Mar. 31, 2017

Patrick was born in England on March 13, 1945. The family moved to Canada where they settled in Red Deer, AB where he had lived since 1947.

He was very involved in sports from an early age and excelled at both hockey and golf. Golf became his passion for life and he was a 57 year member of the Red Deer Golf and Country Club. Pat made many life time friends, enjoying the camaraderie and social aspect of the club.

To all my golf buddies, I will miss you greatly. "hit it long and straight and think of our good times".

Pat was a 39 years employee of Telus Corp. and had enjoyed many good retirement years until being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He battled hard and fought a courageous battle until his death.

Patrick is predeceased by his father James, mother Phyllis and brother Micheal Hanczik. He is survived by his brothers David of Red Deer, and Malcolm of Pitt Meadows, BC and many nephews and nieces.

Pat received so much support in his battle, there isn't enough space to thank everyone.

Special thanks to all the caring staff at the Red Deer Hospital, and the Red Deer Hospice where he spent his final days.

Thanks to Randy Hjertaasx, George Ramage, Jack Shultz, Karen Hobbs and the Hoffmans.

As per Patrick's wishes, no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Red Deer Hospice at 99 Arnot St., Red Deer.
