PENDERGAST Mrs. Lanka Helen Pendergast a long time resident of the Rimbey area passed away in the Red Deer Hospice on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at the age of 75 years after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family. Born at Vermillion, Alberta on March 4, 1931, Lanka was predeceased by her husband Hugh Pendergast, daughter Laura Jean Webber, her parents; Paul and Julia Garnick, brothers; Zoley and Chester, sister; Margaret Tschabold, granddaughter Jody Peterson. Lanka will be lovingly remembered by her children, Irma (Pete) Thibodeau, Julie (Jim) Peterson, Goldie (Dave) Edwards, Dennis (Jalane) Pendergast, Donna (Murry) Heilemann, son-in-law; Dale Webber, fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one brother; John (Margaret) Garnick, three sisters-in-law; Carole Garnick, Olive Harrison, Alma Gray, one brother-in-law; Ed Tschabold and many cherished friends. Funeral services will be held from the Christian Reformed Church in Rimbey, Alberta on Friday January 26, 2007 at 2:30 P.M. with Reverend Deborah Laing officiating. Interment of cremated remains will follow in the Mount Auburn Cemetery. If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Rimbey Drop In Centre, or to the Red Deer Hospice Society.
