PETERS 1924- 2007 Mrs. Mary Peters of Delburne passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Saturday, November 17, 2007, at the age of 83 years. Mary was born at Elnora on February 15, 1924 and was raised on her parent’s farm in the Trenville district, attending school at Trenville and Lousana. After marriage to Pete Peters, Mary lived on the family farm in the Service and Woodlake district. In 1967 she returned to school and obtained her diploma as a Certified Nursing Aide, working in Elnora, Trochu and Red Deer Auxiliary hospitals before retiring back to the family farm east of Delburne. Mary had many interests in life, some of those being, cheering grandchildren and great grandchildren on at various sporting events, visiting with family and friends, gardening, camping, horseback riding both on the farm and the Ya Ha Tinda with her sons, playing cards and crib, carpet bowling, reading, exploring country roads with sister Annie, sharing stories of Trenville and Scotland with brother Alex, enjoying laughs with sister Margaret and visiting her parents and grandparents birthplaces in Scotland and Ireland. A highlight of her many trips was dipping her hand in Loch Lomond. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Delburne United Church and Woodlake Community Society. Mary is survived by two sons, Jim (Marion) of Sundre, Brian (Karen) of Edmonton, daughter-in-law, Bonnie Peters of Delburne, sister, Annie Christensen of Lousana, sister-in-law, Dorothy McWhan of Lousana sister-in-law, Betty Peters of Delburne, special friend Dick Herbert of Lousana, six grandchildren, Shane Peters of Cochrane, Kelly Peters of Calgary, Diane (Dave) Reykdal of Red Deer, Darlene (Doyle) Zimmer of Delburne, Mary Ann Peters of Sherwood Park, Julianne Peters of Edmonton, five great grandchildren, Mark and Chantelle Zimmer, Dustin, Davis and Dawson Reykdal, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and cousins in Scotland and Alberta. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter in 1961, a son, Davie in 1992, her parents, Mary Ann and David McWhan, two sisters, Margaret Lyons and baby Agnes and brother, Alex.
