Pierre J. M. Gauthier

March 20, 1929 - April 7, 2017


With much love and very heavy hearts the family of Pierre J. M. Gauthier (Pete), announce his passing at Rocky Mountain House hospital surrounded by his family.

Pierre was born and raised in Montreal, where he met and married the love of his life, Lillian Dufour Gauthier.

They were blessed with four children.

Pierre enjoyed a successful career with Air Canada at Dorval airport, and then Moncton, NB, where he retired after 32 years of service.

Lillian and Pierre then moved to the Okanagan in 1984 where they followed their dreams and enjoyed retirement. They later moved to Red Deer to be closer to their family, and then to Rocky Mountain House, only four short weeks before his passing.

Pierre enjoyed family, friends, tennis, cross country skiing, fishing, camping, traveling and wine making.

He was a very caring person who always had a positive outlook and great sense of humour. He was a tremendous inspiration and role model. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Pierre is predeceased by his son Michael and sister Mariette in 2013, and great grandson Cullen in 2016.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, his children Phillip (Linda), Joanne (Gord) McCrindle, Lorraine (Gary) Whelen,

Grandchildren Adele (Adam), Jordan (Jessy), Jay (Erin), Matthew, Aimee, Curtis (Chelsey), and Corey, along with six beautiful great grandchildren, (soon to be seven).

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Rocky Funeral Homes.

Memorial funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Red Deer on April 19th, at 11am.
