PITT, 1918 - 2007 Mr. Joseph "Joe" Pitt of Red Deer passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Friday, April 6, 2007 at the age of 89 years. Joe was born on November 20, 1918 at Coalhurst, Alberta where he also attended school and completed his grade twelve. In 1940, when Joe was only 22 years old, he joined and served for the Royal Canadian Army in WWII. Joe moved to Red Deer in 1953 and resided until his passing. He enjoyed fishing, dancing and he was an avid outdoorsman in his younger years. He was very proud to have traveled all across Canada from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean and on all continents. Joe is survived by his four sons, Jim, John, Jeff all of Red Deer and Jerald of Grande Cashe, Alberta, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Ernest Pitt and Ralph Pitt and his wife Hazel both of Victoria, B.C., his sister, Carol and his brother-in-law, Joe Sweda both of Lethbridge, Alberta. He will be dearly missed by Lou Lamb and his large loving family. Joe was predeceased by the mother of his children, Josephine Marie Pitt and his brothers and sisters, Elsie Huff, Bill Pitt, Christien (Teeny) Caban, Dorothy Sweda, Ted Pitt and Grace Olashaki.
