POLNAU, 1912 - 2008 Mrs. Mary Polnau of Red Deer passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Nursing Home on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the age of 96 years. She was born at Hemaruka, Alberta on August 23, 1912. Mary loved cooking, crocheting, gardening and especially enjoyed visits from her family. She is survived by her two daughters, Laureen (Gordon) Fisher of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Sharon (Bernie) Skaalerud of Evergreen, Alberta, a son, Don (Vernie) Polnau of Westlock, Alberta. She will also be lovingly cherished by her six grandchildren, Joanne, Lee, Brenda, Darin, Shane, Ryan and her eight great grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Willie in 1987, a son Lawrence in 2005, a great grand daughter Kyla, a brother Henry Pidhirney and a sister Annie Nydokus. A Funeral Service for the late Mrs. Mary Polnau will be held at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 18 Selkirk Blvd, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, October 31, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Alto-Reste Cemetery.
