CROSSLEY Praise God, on Saturday, December 9th, 2006, Patricia Crossley was healed completely and eternally from the aggressive cancer that she had been courageously battling for the past 16 months. No more need for chemo, radiation, wheelchairs or oxygen as she is now celebrating eternal life with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Pat leaves her husband Ron, her son Brad Crossley and his wife Rhoda of Surrey, B.C., her son Randy Crossley and his wife Janice of Kelowna, B.C., her daughter Rhonda Kim Erion and her husband Allan of Calgary and her daughter-in-law Mary Lou Crossley of Red Deer. Also missing Pat, are her sister Erlene Bryson of Nelson, B.C., her brother-in-law Frank Bryson of Calgary, and her brother Allen Russell and his wife Helen of Penticton, B.C. Thirteen grandchildren and three spouses will miss their Nana and Grandma. Pat was predeceased by her son Rodney Crossley and by her parents Alice and Emery Russell. During a trip to Kelowna this past thanksgiving, Pat and Ron were able to enjoy with their family an early celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary that would have been on December 29th. Pat was born March 17, 1938 in Medicine Hat and lived her early years in Tilley. She moved with her family to Red Deer in 1954 where she met Ron Crossley at their church's youth group. They were married in 1956. Pat has been a devoted wife and mother and has made a home for her family in such remote locations as Fort Simpson and Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories and Whitehorse in the Yukon. The family also lived in Regina, Red Deer, Toronto, Ottawa, Fort St. John and Edmonton. In many areas, Pat took a behind-the-scenes role, but when it came to upholding the spiritual values in the home and in the area of prayerful intercession on behalf of her family and others, she was a sterling example of what Solomon referred to as a “virtuous woman”. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the exceptional care and assistance that Pat received from the staff of Shoppers Drug, the staff, nurses and doctors in the Associate Clinic, the Red Deer Cancer Unit, the diagnostic and laboratory units, the Tom Baker Centre, Red Deer ALS, and the Emergency and Palliative Care wards. The kindness of numerous friends and relatives is also greatly appreciated. A celebration of Pat's life and her promotion to heaven will be held at the Deer Park Alliance Church, 2960-39th St., Red Deer, AB on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest any tributes be made to the Gideons, Box 3619, Guelph, ON N1H 7A2, or to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, c/o Tom Baker Centre 1331-29th St. NW, Calgary AB T2N 4N2.
