Rachel SALITA

SALITA Rachel Salita of Red Deer passed away at Foothills Hospital in Calgary on Friday, June 3, 2005 at the age of 23 years. Rachel was born in Red Deer, Alberta on October 21, 1981, to Jovito and Angelina Salita. Rachel was a vibrant young lady who had just completed one year of Social Work Studies at Red Deer College. This accomplishment is a testament to Rachel’s determination in finishing what ever she set her mind to. Her leisure time was spent bowling, playing basketball, and spending time with her many family and friends. Rachel was considered to be a very caring, compassionate and generous person. Family relationships were highly important to Rachel, and she will be remembered as a loving and wonderful sister, daughter and aunt. Rachel will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered and cherished in the hearts of her parents, Jovito (Corrine Hudson) Salita and Angelina (Lester Worthen) Salita of Red Deer, one brother, Jerome Salita of Red Deer, one sister, Sheryl (John) Narong, and their children Jaden and Natasha, all of Red Deer, her Lola (Grandmother), Carolina Vasquez of Red Deer, her “second sister” and cousin, Liezl (Ray) Chiang of Calgary, her Tita (Aunt) Tess and Tito (Uncle) Rudy Padilla, and their children Trisha and Trina, all of Red Deer, her Tita Marita and Tito Emil Lazaro of Red Deer, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and her many, many friends. Rachel was predeceased by her Lolos (Grandfathers), Angel Vasquez and Jovito Salita Sr., her Lola (Grandmother) Candida Salita, and her two Titos (Uncles) Rene Salita and Greg Balanza. Visitation hours will be at Red Deer Funeral Home (6150 – 67 Street, Red Deer) on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. A Prayer Vigil will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at 8:00 p.m. at Red Deer Funeral Home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (5508 – 48A Avenue, Red Deer) on Thursday, June 9, at 10:00 a.m.., with the Reverend Father Don Stein, Celebrant.
