REPAS It is with deep sadness the family of Vidor William Repas, announce his sudden passing on Monday, March 21, 2005, while surrounded by family, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre at the age of 83 years. He is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Dot of 58 years as well as four children; daughter, Shirley (Rick) Horn, son, Brian (Linda) Repas, daughter, Bonnie (Roger) Hinse and daughter, Brenda (Kent) Boulding. Vidors’ memory will also be cherished by his eight grandchildren; Sheri, Lonny, Dean, Dawn, Nicole, Shannon, Troy and Brittany as well as two great grandchildren, Cali and Paris. He is also survived by a brother Ernie (Myrtle) Repas, one sister Violet (Elmer) Solberg, two sister in-laws Marion Repas, and Margaret (Holcek), one brother in-law Gordon Gauley and numerous nieces and nephews. Vidor was predeceased by his parents Abel and Mary Repas, one sister Helen Berze, two brothers Charlie and Joe Repas, three brother in-laws, Joe Berze Sr., Alf and Bill Gauley and one grand daughter, Cheryl Repas. Vidor was born in Hungary in 1922, and at the age of five, moved with his family to Hillcrest, Alberta and later settled on the family farm west of Rimbey at Leedale, Alberta. He joined the Royal Edmonton Army Regiment at the age of 19 and served overseas in England, Belgium, Holland, Africa and Italy. Vidor returned again in 1945 and purchased a farm in the Leedale area. In 1946, he met and married Dot Gauley and together they farmed until 1974, prior to moving to Red Deer. Vidor enjoyed working at the Co-op feed mill for 12 years prior to retiring. During his retirement, Vidor and Dot enjoyed traveling and camping in their fifth wheel trailer as well as taking bus tours to Reno and throughout Western Canada. They also enjoyed visiting with family and friends. At the time of his passing, Vidor was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was an adoring husband, father and grandfather and proud of his many family achievements. In keeping with Vidor’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation to take place. In lieu of flowers, family and friends can make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 101, 5208 – 53 Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta T4N 5K2. Vidor will be sadly missed, but his memory will be cherished by his wife Dot, his children, grandchildren, family and friends. “In life you walked beside us, and guided us along the way.
