Robert "Bob" Sorensen


Robert John Sorensen passed away on May 28, 2017 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Bob was born August 30, 1956 in Edmonton. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Cindy; daughter Chrissy (Blake) and grandkids Isaac and Desaray; son Craig (Amy) and grandkids Ava, Easton, Iden and Oriah; his dad Knud Sorensen; sister Anne (Ron) Lennox of Charlie Lake, BC; brothers Bruce (Heather) Sorensen of Red Deer and Don Sorensen (Gina Stewart) of Blackfalds; sister Lori Edmunds (Darrin Hansen) of Red Deer; father George (Lorraine) Wayne of Redwater; brothers Darrin (Trish) Wayne of Beaumont and Trevor Wayne of Gibbons; sister Tracey (Harvey) Erdmann of Edmonton; brother Trevor (Brenda) Danbrook of Opal; brothers-in-law Frank Campbell of Red Deer, Dennis Campbell of Spruce Grove and James Campbell of Spruce Grove; sisters-in-law Sandy (Bill) Reed of Boyle, Cheryl (Ron) Deetjen of Lacombe, Linda Brecelj of Saskatoon and Kathy Metz of Hinton; many aunts and uncles and far too many nieces and nephews to mention. Bob was predeceased by his mother Betty Sorensen; in-laws Loren and Jean Campbell; brother-in-law Bob Campbell; great-niece Kaitlyn Reber; grandparents Ann Whammond, Tina & Chris Sorensen, and Wilfred & Nellie Wayne; and uncles Harry Johnson, Gerry Johnson, Jim Wayne and Ken Wayne. A Funeral Service will be held at the Ponoka Culture and Recreation Complex (Hockey Arena) at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2017. The Interment Service will follow at Forest Home Cemetery. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to Ponoka F.C.S.S., the Ponoka Wheelchair Van Society, or any charity of your choice.
