Robert PARSONAGE

June 24, 2005

PARSONAGE Robert Bernard Parsonage of Innisfail passed away on June 21, 2005 at the age of 85 years. Bob was born in Innisfail, AB to Bernard and Ada Parsonage. He enjoyed his youth by riding his horse to Westholm School. He had many fond memories of going fishing and attending hockey games with his numerous friends. In the late 1950’s he met and married Isabell Morrison and together they built the family farm on Antler Hill and raised a family, one daughter (Sandy). It is here where he farmed with his #1 hand, Wilbur Weller, well into his late 70’s. He loved farming but more importantly he was a family man. After the passing of his wife and his retirement from farming, he spent much of his time with his grandchildren. They remember calling Grandpa from school saying how ill they were and him picking them up, but stopping by the toy store before going home. Amazingly, they instantly felt much better. Grandpa also enjoyed the many years of attending the Dance, Doodles, and Drama classes, the playschool and kindergarten field trips. His grandchildren became a tremendous focus in his life and they have been fortunate to have their lives enriched from his presence. Bob loved to travel and Hawaii was a special place for him. Thank you to the Rosefield Centre for all their attentive care. A special thanks to Lavinia West, his caregiver, for making each day a happy one for him. Bob is survived by daughter Sandy (Ken) Heywood of Innisfail; grandchildren Dustin Heywood of Innisfail, Taylor Heywood of Innisfail, and Callee Heywood of Innisfail; sister Marie Newton of Innisfail; brother Gordon (Arlene) Parsonage of Innisfail; and sister-in-law Janette (Bob) McCrossan of Cochrane. Bob is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his wife. If Friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Rosefield Centre. 5023 42nd Street, Innisfail, AB T4G 1A9.
