PATTERSON Robert Patterson of Lacombe, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Lacombe Hospital on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at the age of 79 years with his beloved wife Dorothy, daughter Kari, and son Keith by his side. Bob inspired us all with his courageous battle with cancer. Bob was born in Lloydminster on September 26, 1927. He grew up in the Kitscoty area. In 1949, he moved to Lloydminster where he worked for Bailey's Meat Department in the Slaughter House as a meat cutter. In 1960 he went to work for Canada Safeway in Lloydminster and was there until 1965 as meat cutter and manager. In 1965, he moved to Red Deer where he worked at Port-A-Call Safeway until he retired in December of 1989. Bob and Dorothy enjoyed their retirement by traveling in their motor home to the States, Alaska, and fishing with family and friends. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dorothy, son Keith Patterson, daughter and son-in-law Kari and Andre Noete; five granddaughters, Teri-lynn and Karla Patterson, Ashley, Amanda and Andrea Noete; four sisters, Janet Beek of Lloydminster, Alice (Harold) Sjouquist of Edmonton, Violet (Richard) Pinski of Lloydminster, Isabelle (Pete) Dobranski of Rimbey; three brothers, George (Shirley) of Elnora, John (Kay) of Camrose, Walter of Stettler; Aunt Muriel Hamilton of Alcerve, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother in 1980 and two sisters-in-law. Our family would like to thank Dr. Darnell, the Lacombe Hospital (Unit B), the Lacombe Home Care staff, Dr. Cooper and staff at Associate Clinic, Dr. Graham and all the nurses at the Cancer Centre of Red Deer for all their loving care and support given to our loved one in his time of need. A special Thank You to Lorna and Bob, Marian and Ray for all their help and support. Thank you very much. Funeral Services will be conducted at Wilson's Funeral Chapel, 6120 Highway 2A, Lacombe, Alberta on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fred Albert officiating. Eulogy given by Ernest Ostrom of Lloydminster. David Dobranski, David Sandbeck, Gavin Fairley, Brent Sandbeck, Shawn Boutin and Bill Patterson shall be Bob's Honorary Pallbearers. Interment of Bob's cremated remains will be held in Alto-Reste Memorial Gardens, Red Deer at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers if desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 4730A Ross St., Red Deer, AB. T4N 1X2 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
