Robert SPENCER

SPENCER Robert Hugh Spencer passed away August 10, 2007 at the age of 90 years. Bob was predeceased by his wife Jean and is survived by his son Morley, daughters Donna Herrick and Bev Spencer and his seven grandchildren. Born and raised in Wetaskiwin, he served with the R.C.A.F. as a Flight Instructor during World War Two. Following his service, he returned to work as a mechanic, and later attended the University of Alberta. After completing his studies, Bob taught automotives at Lacombe composite High School for many years. His passion was antique autos. Over the years he restored a number of vehicles and helped friends with their restoration projects. Both Bob and Jean were life-time members of the Central Alberta Vintage Auto Club. They spent many hours working on behalf of the club and enjoyed going to the many rallies and functions. At Bob's request no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Bob's memory be directed to the Lacombe Foundation 4508 C&E Trail, Lacombe, AB T4L 1V9. On the next sunny weekend, put a shine on your car and take your best girl for a spin in the country, That's what Dad would do.
