ROGERS Roberta Helene April 29, 1940 – July 31, 2005 Roberta Rogers passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, July 31, 2005 at the Chinook Hospice in Calgary at the age of 65 years. Roberta was born in Edson, AB on April 29, 1940 and throughout her life lived in numerous locations in both Alberta and British Columbia. She lived her life devoted to her family, friends and creative ventures, enhancing the lives of those around her with her compassion, selfless nature, kindness and love. Roberta loved to laugh and celebrate life, and was always willing to try new things and meet new people. Roberta was a very nurturing person and chose a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. For twenty years, she cared for the elderly and disabled at the Red Deer Auxiliary Hospital and later through Home Care. Roberta was also a talented seamstress, knitter and crafter, often giving gifts of her handiwork to friends and family. At the age of fifty-five, she attended and excelled in the Red Deer College’s Costume Design Program. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Rob and Treena, Grant and Frances, and Terry and Tammy; her grandchildren Megan and Scott; and her siblings and their spouses, David and Claire-lise Rogers, Patricia and Gordon Piel, and Judy and Bob Chaffin. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by all who knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at a Memorial Service at Gaetz United Church (4758 Ross Street, Red Deer, AB) on Friday, August 12, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fran Hare and the Rev. Gail McEwan, Presiders.
