BADGER Robertina 1924 - 2008 Mrs. Ruby Badger of Edmonton, formerly of Red Deer, passed away suddenly in Edmonton on Friday, August 29th, 2008 at the age of 84 years. Ruby was born in Neilston, Scotland on June 22, 1924. She married John Badger, a Canadian Soldier, becoming a war bride. In 1946 they moved to a farm in the Cumberland district east of Red Deer. After several years on the farm, they moved to Scotland for three years and then returned to Red Deer. Ruby worked many years in the hardware departments at Builders Hardware, Scot's Five-To-A-Dollar, Stedmens, Peevy Mart and finally Kresges. She enjoyed this work very much. In 2005, Ruby moved to Edmonton to be closer to her family. Ruby is survived by two sons, George (Doreen) of Edmonton and Donald (Deborah) of St. Albert; four grandsons; seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also left to cherish her memory is one sister-in-law Eileen Williams of Red Deer. Ruby was predeceased by her husband John. A Memorial Service for the late Ruby Badger will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820-45 Street, Red Deer Alberta, on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. Private Interment Service will be held at Alto-Reste Cemetery.
