1937 - 2017
Ronald Hector Gibbs of Red Deer passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on July 29, 2017 at the age of 79 years after a lengthy struggle with Parkinson's Disease and Lewy Body Dementia. Ron was born in North Cobalt, Ontario to parents Hector and Helen. He loved to travel and be near or on the water and enjoyed his many winters at the Mayan Riviera. Ron is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Betty Lou; stepson Chad and step-grandchildren, Ayden & Abby of Calgary, Alberta; sisters Joan (Ed) Watchel of Oliver, BC and Judy (Gordon) Rottar of Paris, Ontario as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A private celebration of Ron's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Parkinson Association of Alberta, 102, 4918 - 46 St, Red Deer, AB T4N 1N2 or a charity of the donor's choice.
