Russel STAUFFER

STAUFFER Russel Dell Stauffer passed away on September 26, 2005 at the age of 76 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marian; his son Terry, and Lois Stauffer of Airdrie and their family: Terri Lynn Hardy, Shelley Godbout, Bobby Marr and Stephanie Fehr; his daughter Judy, and Vern Payne of Sylvan Lake, and his three granddaughters: Lindsay, and Joe Vandermeer, Erin Payne and Calisia Payne. He is also survived by his sister Doreen Hillman and brother Murray of the Evarts area. Russel was predeceased by his parents Clyde and Dollie Stauffer and brother Gerald. Russel was born at Alsask, Saskatchewan and raised on a farm in the Evarts area. He raised his own family in Calgary where he drove for Greyhound Lines for 30 years. He was also a licensed aircraft engineer and pilot. Russ had many hobbies and was a self-taught craftsman, machinist, and welder. In his younger years he built dune buggies and in his retirement he kept busy restoring antique tractors and cars. Russel was one of the founding owners of Bar XH Aviation in Medicine Hat. At Russel’s request there will be no formal funeral but if friends desire, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Kidney Foundation.
