Shirley THOMPSON

THOMPSON Shirley Thompson of Red Deer passed away peacefully on Saturday November 11, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 69 years. She will be lovingly remembers by her husband Bob of Red Deer, her sons Brad and Greg (Renee) and grandson Cory, her sister Macel (Allen) Engel, her nephew Scott Engel and his son Brodin all of Innisfail, Bob's son Robbie Thompson of Jasper and a large number of relatives and good friends. Shirley was predeceased by her parents Laverne and Nina Ceasor, and her sons father Dick Mottus. Shirley went to high school in Eckville, and then went on to complete her Psychiatric nurses' training and graduated from there in 1958. She enjoyed working in her profession for over 30 years and upon retirement she was presented with a plaque from the Province of Alberta in Appreciation for her 30 years of dedicated service. Shirley was a very special lady, wife, mother and friend who possessed a great inner strength and a passionate love of life. She and Bob enjoyed several winter trips to sunny Arizona in their motor home and truly enjoyed spending their time south with friends and relatives. Shirley was also very, very well known for her love of shopping and her addiction like fondness for shoes, her unconditional friendships and her enjoyment of The Dress Club and her good times as a Red Hatter'. Services to be held at the Mount Calvery Luthern Church 18 Selkirk Blvd. Red Deer on Thursday, November 16, 2006 @ 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donors choice.
