SIMS Mrs. Grace Ena Sims of Red Deer, passed into the presence of the Lord on November 5, 2004 at the University of Alberta Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 72 years. Grace was born on September 15, 1932 at Grand Prairie, Alberta, to Charles and Edith Sims. Grace was a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend. Her greatest satisfaction was being able to help the needy, the abused, the elderly and those who needed a friend. Grace had a longstanding membership and participation in the Royal Canadian Legion and the Ladies of the Moose. She served on the board of the Red Deer Food Bank and was a faithful worker for local charity bingos. Grace was always up for a game of crib and she kept seniors, hospital wards and lodges supplied with playing cards and reading books, as well as many visits and phone calls. Seniors could always count on her for rides for outings, groceries or whatever the need may be. Grace's generous spirit and loving heart will be greatly missed by her family and friends and all those who knew and loved her. Grace leaves to mourn her loss her daughter, Colleen; her sons, Doug and Michael; and her grandchildren. She will also be sadly missed by her siblings, Ronald, Winnifred, Mary, William, John, Dorothy, Marguerite, David and Joan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Grace was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Wesley; and her sons, Rodney and Harold. Those we love, don't go away, They walk beside us everyday, Unseen, unheard, but (still) always near, Still loved, still missed. A memorial service will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapels, 4820-45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
