SISON Mrs. Editha Gorrion ‘Edith’ Sison of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at her home in Calgary, Alberta, in the presence of her loving family to join her beloved husband, Antonio Sison on Friday, April 15, 2005 at the age of 68 years. Edith was born on May 15, 1936 at Hinigaran, Bacolod City, Phillipines. She arrived in Canada in 1969 and lived in High Prairie, Alberta, where she worked as a midwife. Edith, together with her husband, Antonio moved to Red Deer to raise their family, while working at Michener Centre. While living in Red Deer, Edith was a two term president of the Filipino-Canadian Association, as well as a member of many other organizations. She volunteered her time for many charitable causes. Edith was a successful business lady who inspired others to pursue their goals. She loved to travel, and in doing so brought the world to her children. It is very difficult to accept your absence. You will always be in our hearts and minds. We love you tremendously and we thank you for the memories and all that you have given. Edith leaves to mourn her loss, her daughter, Lynn Sison Jamett and her son, Joel Anthony Sison. Prayers will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapels, 4820 – 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 6 McMillan Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, April 22, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
