SMART, Mrs. Verla Elizabeth Smart of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at the age of 74 years. Verla was born on April 3, 1931 at Meaford, Ontario. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family dearly. Verla will be very deeply and sadly missed but forever remembered and cherished in the hearts of her family and dear friends. Verla leaves to mourn her loss, her children, Jean (Eugene) Brown of Didsbury, Alberta, Ken (Cheryl) Smart of Lethbridge, Alberta, Debbie (James) Smart of Red Deer, Darlene Smart of Caroline, Alberta, her grandchildren, Rob (Karen) Brown and their children, Kayden and Carter of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Vicki (Ryan) Glover and their son, Riley of Red Deer, Amanda (Jeremy) Klager of Lethbridge, Charity (Tyler) Hagan of Langley, British Columbia, Danielle Smart, Matthew Smart and Michael Smart, all of Lethbridge and Te-Jay Smart and her fiancé, Mike Thompson of Edmonton. She will also be sadly missed by numerous other family members and many dear friends. Verla was predeceased by her beloved husband, James Smart on July 1, 1993, her sisters, Thelma, Isabel and Shirley and a brother, Lloyd. A Public Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel of the CrossRoads Church, 32nd Street and Queen Elizabeth II Highway (Hwy 2), Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
