STEPHENS 1941- 2007 Bob Stephens, beloved husband of Jean Stephens of Red Deer, passed away suddenly while camping, on Wednesday, August 22, 2007, at the age of 66 years. Bob was born on February 8, 1941 at North Battleford, Saskatchewan. He enjoyed spending time with his coffee buddies and chat group, wood working, fishing, camping, watching hockey and playing cards. Bob spent thirty-six years as a meat inspector and many hours doing volunteer work with the hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-five years (or as Bob would say "My Good Wife"), Jean Stephens of Red Deer, three sons and their families, Rick (Shirley)and their children Melanie and Bryce Stephens all of Stettler, Alberta, Brad (Sherri) and their children Chelsey, Chayse and Carlee Stephens all of Edmonton, Alberta, Ken and daughter Cierra Stephens of Red Deer, his mother, Ethel Stephens of Red Deer, a sister, Marian Sage of Lacombe, Alberta, three brothers, Jim (Ruth) Stephens of Powell River, British Columbia, Ron (Carol) Stephens of Osoyoos, British Columbia, Ted (Linda) Stephens of Red Deer, Alberta, a brother-in-law, Foster (Shirley) Thompson of Grand Prairie, Alberta, three sisters-in-law, Mary Carver of Bentley, Alberta, Heather (Stan) Fischer of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Anne Cust of Eckville, Alberta and his faithful companion Mac. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Stephens, mother and father-in-law, Annie and Sid Thompson and a brother-in-law, Bill Sage. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at the CrossRoads Church, 32 Street and Queen Elizabeth II Highway, on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial Donations in Bob’s honour may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta & N.W.T, 101, 5208 53 Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 5K2 or donor’s choice.
