When she fell in love with Dave, she was working at the radio station CKRD during the early sixties. Through out the years, whether they lived in Rocky Mtn. House, Peace River, Prince Albert, Sk, Drumheller (radio station & school) or Red Deer, Winnie always worked somewhere doing something she enjoyed. When they settled in Red Deer, she worked at the radio station again then moved onto work for the Red Deer Public School Board that she enjoyed for several years. An opportunity came for her to pursue owning her own business which she did with great passion by being the President of Allures Central Ltd. for 14 years until her retirement in the spring of 2003. Winnie was an integral member of the Laureate Kappa Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi for the past 25 + years. Winnie's greatest joy in life was spending precious moments with her 8 grandchildren & was well loved for her amazing birthday cakes that she made for each of them every year. She always made every occasion & holiday special for each & every one of them. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, cooking, experimenting making new things and travelling to many different places with her husband & family members. Winnie always tried to help others in many different ways. She touched the lives of everyone she met. Winnie never went to bed the same day she got up! She was a very busy, hard working lady. She was well loved by all who knew her especially by her children, their spouses & grandchildren. During the last few hours of her precious life, her loving devoted husband knew how to put a smile on her face by gently blowing a kiss to her then catch it quickly & gently place it on her lovingly.
