Sylvia WELLS

WELLS Sylvia Wells of Alder Flats, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on April 14, 2007 at the age of 70 years. Sylvia Bader was born June 21, 1936 on a farm in the Richmound area in Saskatchewan. She lived in the Richmound area for eight years, then moved to Acme, Alberta in 1944. From Acme to Beiseker to Mirror. All this time enjoying the farm life. Sylvia enjoyed the outdoors and would rather be out helping her father with chores than in the house. Once she was old enough she was off to Lacombe to attend Canadian Union College once there she decided college life was not for her. Sylvia then moved to Red Deer where she met and married Jim Wells. They lived in Red Deer and raised their two children; Darcy and Darlo; until Jim's passing in July 1976. Sylvia continued to live in Red Deer were she eventually met husband Virgil Monteith. They moved to an acreage west of Ponoka, then to Alder Flats. There they stayed and enjoyed the solitude and the joy of nature. Sylvia will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Virgil Monteith her daughter, Darlo (Jeff) Arndt of Richmond, British Columbia, two step-sons; Brett Monteith of Blackfalds, Alberta and Wade Monteith of Blackfalds, Alberta four step-daughters; Raye (Calvin) Dahms of Rimbey, Alberta, Jackie Cross of Red Deer, Alberta, Pam (Brian) McDonagh of Red Deer, Alberta, and Cathey Monteith of Red Deer, Alberta. She will forever be remembered by her two grandchildren; Jason and Christopher Wilton of Richmond, British Columbia and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Sylvia was predeceased by her son Darcy Wells of Rimbey and step-son Rick Monteith of Ponoka. A Graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Alto-Reste Cemetery, Red Deer.
