BOODE Thomas "Tom" Edward Boode passed away suddenly on Monday, June 18th, 2007, at the age of 63 years. Tom was born in Lacombe, AB on November 23, 1943. Tom spent his youth being carefree, exploring the sloughs and fields around Lacombe, AB. Upon graduating from Lacombe High School, he commenced upon an apprenticeship as a plumber and gasfitter. Toms working years were spent as a proud member of Local 488, Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, and his satisfaction came from the many large projects he safely helped construct. He challenged and earned his Steamfitting Ticket, offering more expertise on the job. The pride he put in his work was evident in any project he tackled. He was a man who could fix anything. He loved building street rod automobiles almost as much as he loved driving them to anywhere on this continent. Street rod vacations were the source of many lasting family memories. Tom was very athletic and a winner on the sport field, whether it be track and field, ball or hockey. Tom was a proud father, he taught lessons of sportsmanship to his sons by coaching their teams, being there for the early morning practices or cheering them on in the stands. Tom is predeceased by his parents Harry and Genny, his stepfather and stepmother, Bob and Gladys Hill, his older brother Leonard and his sister Myrna Hopkins, Tom is survived by his two sons; Darren (Naomi) of Toronto and Christopher of Proctor, BC. and their mother, Valerie. He also has two delightful granddaughters, Ella and Maxine in Toronto whom he loved dearly. He leaves to mourn his brother-in-law, Tony Hopkins, nieces and nephews, Howard Hopkins and family, Linda Stanvick and family, Cheryl Blonke and family, as well as Brenda Claude and family. Toms' extended family members, particularly the Heidt family, will miss Thomas, as will his many cherished friends both street rodding and industry associates. He was a man with a kind heart who loved doing favors for any and all.
